Philly Boy = Film of the Year

PHILLY BOY was recently awarded "Film of the Year" at the 2nd Annual Phillyhiphop.com Awards, which were held at Silk City. Chosen by users of the website, other winners included The Roots, Freeway, DJ Jazzy Jeff writer Damon C. Williams and Prophets of the Ghetto. Visit phillyhiphop.com for a complete list of winners.

MC Breeze aka Joey B. Ellis is the subject of "Philly Boy," a feature-length documentary from Mike D.

More Winning News: JAZZYFATNASTEES IN PROCESS, a 20 minute portrait of one of Philly's best kept musical secrets featuring interviews with Jill Scott, Jazmine Sullivan, Kindred and Flowetry, recently was awarded Best Documentary at the 2003 Cine Noir Festival of Black Film. Held in Wilmington, NC, Philly Boy received 3rd place in the Documentary category.

The Jazzies Movie also Screened succesfully at this year's Philadelphia Film Festival/ Festival of Independents. If you missed it, there will be a free screening of the entire shorts program, Tuesday May 6, 2003 at the Coffee Shop at 3rd and Brown.
